Soiree & Souper Canadienne

St. Louis de Gonzague is excited to be hosting its 12th annual Soiree Canadienne on Friday evening, January 26th in the church hall. This event celebrates the French Canadian roots of the parish in a vibrant and exciting way – providing a beautiful present day tribute to the hard work and strong faith that built up this parish since its inception in 1873.

In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s French Canadian families moved to the city of Nashua in large numbers and eventually became the largest ‘ethnic group” in the city at that time, establishing St. Aloysius as Nashua’s first French-Canadian Roman Catholic Church. St. Louis de Gonzague sponsors many cultural events throughout the year to keep the cultural heritage of its parishioners alive.

A fun filled evening of celebration is planned with entertainment for the evening featuring Johnny Morin et son groupe. The menu will consist of a variety of French Canadian food to include: Tourtiere (Pork Pie), Boeuf Bourgogne (Beef Burgandy), salad, mashed potatoes, vegetable, and dessert. Doors will open at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served promptly at 6:00 pm. The cost is $30.00 per person and full tables of 8 may be reserved. Those wishing to attend may purchase tickets at the St. Louis parish rectory at 48 West Hollis St. Nashua. Tickets will not be sold at the door. For more information, please call the rectory at 882-4362.
